KARACHI (Dunya News) – The wife of a Pakistan Navy officer who embraced martyrdom has turned her grief into courage by joining the Pakistan Navy as an officer.

Alvira Hamza, wife of Lieutenant Commander Hamza Abid, received a commission in the Pakistan Navy after securing the Commandant Gold Medal and joined the Information Technology branch of the force.

Speaking about her journey, Alvira Hamza said her husband’s sacrifice inspired her to become part of the Pakistan Navy. She said wearing the same uniform that she once saw her husband wear is a moment of pride for her and her daughter.

She shared that her experience at the Pakistan Naval Academy was memorable and encouraged young women in Pakistan to consider joining the armed forces, saying that if she could achieve this while raising a daughter, others could also pursue their dreams.

Her induction as a Pakistan Navy officer has been described as a symbol of courage, resilience, and inspiration for women across the country.
