Pakistan Peoples Party and JUI-F have announced an electoral alliance for the Azad Kashmir elections, pledging mutual support for candidates ahead of the July 27 polls.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have announced a political alliance for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections, aiming to strengthen their electoral prospects ahead of the July 27 vote.   The announcement was made during a joint press conference in Islamabad, attended by senior leaders of both parties from Azad Kashmir.   PPP leader Chaudhry Yasin said the alliance marked the beginning of formal political cooperation between the two parties in the region and expressed confidence that it would benefit both sides in the elections.   He said the PPP leadership had consistently highlighted the Kashmir issue at national and international forums and remained committed to representing the aspirations of the people of Azad Kashmir.   Chaudhry Yasin also announced that the candidates contesting from constituencies LA-14 and LA-23 would be joint nominees of the PPP and JUI-F.   Speaking at the press conference, JUI-F Azad Kashmir chief Maulana Saeed Yousaf described the alliance as a historic development, saying it was the first formal electoral partnership between the two parties in the region.   He said the PPP would support JUI-F candidates in two constituencies, while JUI-F would back PPP nominees in all remaining constituencies across Azad Kashmir.   The alliance is expected to reshape the political landscape ahead of the legislative assembly elections, with both parties hoping that coordinated campaigning and vote-sharing arrangements will strengthen their position against rival political groups.   The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on July 27, 2026, with political parties intensifying campaign activities across the region.
