President approves chief justices' visit to Russia for legal forum

President Zardari approves visit of Pakistan’s top judges to Russia for the 14th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum scheduled from June 24 to 26.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the visit of the chief justices of the Supreme Court and the Federal Constitutional Court to Russia for participation in a major international legal forum.

The approval came after the president endorsed the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the participation of Pakistan’s senior judicial leadership in the 14th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

Following the approval, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court will travel to Saint Petersburg to represent Pakistan at the global legal gathering.

The 14th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum is scheduled to be held from June 24 to 26, 2026, and is expected to bring together leading judicial, legal and policymaking figures from around the world.

Officials said the forum will provide an opportunity for high-level discussions on legal reforms, judicial cooperation and emerging challenges facing justice systems globally.
