Suspect in selling sensitive data to foreign agencies held in Karachi

The FIA stated that the accused used online communication channels to stay in contact with foreign handlers and exchange sensitive information.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Federal Investigation Agency's Counter Terrorism Wing (FIA-CTW) has arrested a suspect involved in selling sensitive information and documents of Pakistani citizens to foreign intelligence agencies.

According to FIA officials, the accused was part of a network that included both local and foreign individuals. He is alleged to have shared confidential data related to Nadra records, passports, and mobile phone users with foreign agencies through various social media platforms.

Officials said the suspect was also involved in digital financial fraud targeting Pakistani citizens. Investigators revealed that payments for the illegal activities were received through cryptocurrency and digital wallets, making the transactions difficult to trace.

The FIA stated that the accused used online communication channels to stay in contact with foreign handlers and exchange sensitive information.

Following the arrest, FIA-CTW Karachi registered a case against the suspect and launched a detailed investigation to identify other members of the network and determine the full extent of the operation.
