Fatima Sana shines with unbeaten 55 and 3 wickets, setting historic all-round record despite Pakistan Women losing to South Africa.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan Women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana delivered a brilliant all-round performance and set a unique record in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match against South Africa, despite Pakistan suffering a two-wicket defeat.

Batting first, Pakistan struggled early and were reduced to 50 for 8 at one stage. However, Fatima Sana played a responsible yet aggressive innings, scoring an unbeaten 55 off 38 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes.

It was her maiden half-century in the T20 World Cup, and she also shared a record partnership with Tuba Hassan to stabilize the innings.+

Her knock became historic as she became the player with the highest score ever by a batter coming in at number eight or lower in Women’s T20 World Cup history.

In the chase, South Africa were cruising towards victory, but Fatima Sana made the contest competitive with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 16 runs.

She dismissed key South African batters at crucial moments, but the Proteas eventually reached the target.

Despite the loss, Fatima Sana became the first captain in women’s T20 cricket history to score a half-century and take three wickets in a single match.
