PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is set to present its budget for the fiscal year 2026–27 tomorrow, with a proposed total volume of 2,280 billion rupees, officials said on Thursday.
According to the provincial Finance Department, 225 billion rupees have been proposed for the Annual Development Programme (ADP), while 150 billion rupees are expected under foreign aid and assistance to support development initiatives.
Officials said the road sector will receive the largest allocation of 60 billion rupees under development projects. The budget is expected to include more than 2,500 development schemes across the province.

The Finance Department further stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to receive 1,379 billion rupees from the federal government in the next fiscal year, similar to the current year’s transfer. In addition, the province is expected to receive 139 billion rupees under a one percent share due to its status as a terrorism-affected region.
Authorities noted that due to legal complications, the legal team did not grant permission for a three-month budget presentation format, resulting in a full annual budget being prepared.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that the decision has been made to present a full annual budget on June 19, adding that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has been given the green signal for the move.
He stated that all assembly members would attend the budget session and support the chief minister for budget approval. He added that the party had wished to consult its founder prior to the budget, but permission for a meeting was not granted.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan further said that no decision would be made that harms the interests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stressing that the budget would be presented keeping public interest and provincial development in view.
