517 Indian Sikh pilgrims arrived at Gurdwara Rohri Sahib Aimanabad under strict security for Baba Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s death anniversary commemorations in Pakistan.

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – A group of 517 Indian Sikh pilgrims arrived at Gurdwara Rohri Sahib in Aimanabad on Sunday to participate in the annual commemorations marking the death anniversary of Baba Guru Arjan Dev Ji, amid strict security arrangements.

The pilgrims reached the historic religious site in a convoy under a comprehensive security plan described by authorities as “foolproof,” ensuring safe travel and smooth facilitation throughout their visit.

Upon arrival, the Sikh yatris were warmly welcomed by senior officials including the Commissioner Gujranwala Division Muhammad Ali, Regional Police Officer Khurram Shehzad Warraich, Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed, and City Police Officer Dr Ghiyas Gul. The officials greeted the visitors and presented them with floral garlands, while flowers were also showered as a gesture of hospitality and goodwill.

Authorities said special arrangements had been put in place for the comfort, safety, and religious observance of the pilgrims. These include dedicated facilitation desks, enhanced security deployment, and continuous monitoring to ensure peaceful conduct of all religious activities during their stay.

The district administration also confirmed that health camps, heatwave relief points, and emergency response units have been established to provide immediate assistance to the visiting pilgrims. Officials said the aim is to ensure that all visitors can participate in their religious rituals without inconvenience.

Pilgrims are taking part in various prayers and religious ceremonies at Gurdwara Rohri Sahib, which is considered one of the most significant sacred sites in Sikh history. The shrine attracts large numbers of devotees every year from across the region and abroad.

Local authorities emphasized that the visit is part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to facilitate religious tourism and promote interfaith harmony by ensuring respectful and secure access to holy sites for all communities.

The visiting pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Punjab government and district administration, appreciating the hospitality, security measures, and smooth coordination provided during their stay. Many thanked the authorities for what they described as exemplary management and respectful treatment.

Officials said the pilgrimage will continue as per schedule, with full administrative support available throughout the religious events.
