ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Monday upheld the arrest warrants of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and declared several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders proclaimed offenders in a case linked to the October 4 protest.

The hearing, related to the alleged killing of a police official during the protest, was conducted by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.

During proceedings, the court maintained the arrest warrants issued against CM Sohail Afridi and confirmed its earlier decision declaring former opposition leader Omar Ayub, Aamir Mughal, Hafeez-ur-Rehman and others as proclaimed offenders.

PTI leader Azam Swati appeared before the court, after which the trial in his case was allowed to proceed. The court also recorded statements of prosecution witnesses as the case moved forward.

The case was registered at the Noon Police Station in Islamabad in connection with the October 4 protest incident involving the death of a police officer.
