ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) — The federal government has announced relief measures for government employees, deciding to merge two ad hoc allowances into the basic pay structure.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the ad hoc relief allowances issued in 2022 and 2025 have now been incorporated into basic salary. The 15 percent ad hoc relief allowance from 2022 and the 10 percent ad hoc allowance from 2025 have both been merged into the basic pay.
Officials said the move will increase the basic salary of government employees, with a ripple effect on other benefits and allowances linked to basic pay.
In addition, the government has approved a 50 percent increase in the conveyance allowance for public sector employees, aimed at providing greater financial support for commuting expenses.
Government sources said these measures have been taken to protect employees from the impact of inflation and to reduce their overall financial burden.
