PM Shehbaz discusses peace efforts with Qatari counterpart in key diplomatic call

Pakistan and Qatar reaffirm diplomatic cooperation

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, during which both leaders discussed regional peace efforts and diplomatic coordination, with Qatar acknowledging Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting stability.

During the call, PM Shehbaz conveyed his best wishes for the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as for the brotherly people of Qatar. The Qatari premier reciprocated the sentiments, expressing goodwill towards Pakistan and its leadership.

PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude to Qatar for its support of Islamabad’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at peace during the ongoing Gulf crisis. He noted that, according to developments shared during the discussion, a peace agreement between relevant parties is expected to be ready for signing in the near future.

The Qatari premier praised Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement and commended PM Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their role in facilitating and advancing the dialogue process. He stated that both leaders had contributed meaningfully to keeping negotiations on track and encouraging constructive communication among stakeholders.

Sheikh Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s full support for Pakistan’s peace efforts, expressing optimism that these initiatives would contribute to lasting stability and cooperation across the region.

On the occasion, PM Shehbaz also reiterated his invitation to the Emir of Qatar for an official visit to Pakistan, an invitation that had previously been agreed upon by both sides and remains under consideration.

The two leaders concluded the conversation by agreeing to maintain close coordination and continue regular consultations to strengthen bilateral engagement and support ongoing diplomatic efforts.
