The last rites of two Christian soldiers who embraced martyrdom in the crash were held at Christ Church in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Funeral prayers for the soldiers martyred in the MI-17 helicopter crash in Muzaffarabad were offered at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and senior civil and military officials in attendance.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a large number of family members of the martyrs, along with people from various walks of life, also participated in the ceremony to pay their respects to the fallen personnel.

The ISPR stated that the martyrs will be laid to rest in their native areas with full military honours.

Meanwhile, the last rites of two Christian soldiers who embraced martyrdom in the crash were held at Christ Church in Rawalpindi. Political and military leaders attended the service to honour their sacrifice.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the sacrifices of the martyrs would continue to inspire the nation. He described the armed forces' contributions towards the country's defence, peace and sovereignty as unforgettable and reaffirmed the nation's solidarity with the families of the martyrs.
