AJK govt restores protest cases after withdrawal of earlier concessions

AJK government restores 177 protest FIRs after alleging violation of agreement terms and ending earlier legal concessions.

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has reversed earlier concessions related to protest cases and decided to reinstate 177 FIRs, officials said.

According to the government, an agreement reached on October 4, 2025 had stated that all issues would be resolved through an implementation committee.

However, authorities said that holding street protests, applying pressure, and creating unrest violated the terms of the agreement.

Following the alleged breach of the accord, FIRs that had previously been withdrawn have now been restored in line with the agreed terms.

Officials added that legal proceedings will now continue under the reinstated cases as per the original framework of the agreement.
