Bilawal to meet PM Shehbaz over AJK situation

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari voiced concern over the political situation in Azad Kashmir and announced plans to meet the prime minister for dialogue.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed serious concern over the evolving political situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, announcing plans to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in an effort to resolve issues through political dialogue and parliamentary engagement.

The remarks came during a meeting of the Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir parliamentary party, chaired by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, where participants discussed the current political landscape in the region in detail.

The meeting was also attended by PPP’s political affairs in-charge for Azad Jammu and Kashmir and central president of the party’s women wing, Faryal Talpur, alongside members of the parliamentary party.

During the session, extensive consultations took place between Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and party lawmakers regarding the overall political environment and emerging challenges facing Azad Kashmir.

Parliamentary party members presented various proposals and recommendations concerning the recent developments, which were heard in detail by the party leadership.

Addressing participants, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the party remains deeply concerned about the current circumstances and emphasised that political disagreements should be resolved through dialogue rather than confrontation.

He stated that he would hold a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the situation and explore solutions through consultation and parliamentary mechanisms.

Bilawal further remarked that the Pakistan Peoples Party was founded around the issue of Kashmir and has consistently prioritised addressing the concerns and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The announcement comes at a time when political developments in Azad Kashmir continue to attract attention, with coalition partners and regional stakeholders closely monitoring possible outcomes of future negotiations.
