SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Petroleum Development Oman said on Friday that operations at Mina Al Fahal port are proceeding normally, after three sources told Reuters earlier that oil loading had been suspended following an explosion near its mooring berths.
The explosion occurred between single-buoy mooring (SBM) 1 and 2 berths due to an alleged drone attack, the people familiar with the matter had said.
It was not immediately clear when the attack took place.
Several supertankers were seen anchored off the port on Friday, shipping data from LSEG showed.
Oman exports 800,000 to 900,000 barrels per day of crude from the terminal.
Iranian state media on Wednesday reported that Tehran targeted a US military ship hosting a "control and command centre" while it was approaching Iranian territorial waters in the Gulf of Oman, which the US Central Command has denied.
