KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh government has decided to establish a narcotics control force to launch a crackdown against narcotics smuggling and the drug mafia.
Sindh Minister for Home and Law, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, while speaking to the media after the Standing Committee on Home Affairs meeting, said that the narcotics control force and the police will work together against drug trafficking.
He said that discussions were also held regarding granting powers to the police in relation to the narcotics control. He said that 12 cases had been registered against alleged drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky in Sindh, one in the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), and five in Punjab.
He said that a zero-tolerance policy would be enforced against drug traffickers and their facilitators. He further stated that no individual involved in the Pinky case will be spared.
