LAHORE (Web Desk) - The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has disbursed Rs45 million among national hockey players ahead of upcoming international assignments.
According to details, each player has received Rs2.2 million, including Rs700,000 under Pro League allowances.
Players were also given Rs1.5 million as a reward announced by the Prime Minister for qualifying for the Hockey World Cup.
PHF President Muhsin Naqvi said the payments were made in advance for the first time before an international event, adding that the federation would continue supporting players until ongoing administrative issues are resolved.
PHF President Muhammad Tahir Vani said players received daily allowances at the rate of $110 per day for the Pro League, and that the government was overseeing hockey affairs on the Prime Minister’s directives.
He expressed hope that the national team would deliver strong performances in the Pro League.
Pakistan hockey team is scheduled to play Pro League matches in Belgium against Belgium and Spain from June 13 to 20, followed by fixtures against India and England in England from June 23 to 27.
After the Pro League, the team will participate in preparations for the FIH Hockey World Cup, scheduled from August 14 to 30 in the Netherlands and Belgium.
