ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A major breakthrough has been achieved between the federal government and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), with both sides agreeing to recommend June 10, 2026, as the date for presenting the federal budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
According to officials, a key consultative meeting was held between government representatives and PPP leaders. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met the PPP leadership to discuss the upcoming budget, development projects, and economic priorities.

Matters related to fiscal stability, public welfare, inclusive economic growth, and development targets for fiscal year 2026-27 also came under discussion.
The meeting was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, and Saleem Mandviwalla. Development and water-related projects for Sindh were also discussed.
Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani and Special Assistant Tariq Bajwa also participated in the meeting.
Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal and FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial briefed participants on budget-related matters.
The government and its coalition partners agreed to continue consultations on the budget, with public welfare, development projects, and economic stability identified as key priorities. Officials said the consultation process with allied parties has entered its final stage ahead of the budget announcement.
