(Web Desk) - The world’s only wild albino panda has been caught on camera in incredible footage that captures the bear munching on bamboo.

And experts say the amazing creature is in great health as he roams the Wolong Nature Reserve in Sichuan, China.

The rare panda was first discovered in 2019, when a researcher put infrared cameras in the forest where he lives.

Scientists were then able to capture video of the bear at around 6500 meters above sea level.

The stunning creature has been identified as a male in previous sightings.

Li Sheng, a researcher at Peking University’s School of Life Sciences, said in 2023: “The white panda has built positive relationships with other individuals in the area.

“This remarkable adaptation illustrates the high-quality habitat, adequate food resources, and effective conservation measures provided by the reserve.”

Boffins are collecting hair and faeces samples from the beast in the hopes of performing DNA analysis.

Scientists are looking to understand more about the albino bear’s biology through its DNA.

Tan Yingchun, a senior engineer at the Wolong National Nature Reserve explained what researchers were looking for.

He said: “The goal is to find out if there are other giant pandas keeping company with the white one in the area.'”

Pandas were once classified as endangered with recent conservation efforts helping the species thrive.

Less than 2,000 pandas are known to exist in southwest China with the solitary creatures tending to roam remote regions.
