Islamabad re-imposes revised business hours starting June 1

Islamabad enforces new business hours from June 1; markets close by 8 PM, restaurants and shops by 10 PM, while essential services and deliveries remain unaffected.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Authorities have issued a new notification re-imposing revised operating hours for markets, shopping malls, and public venues, effective June 1, 2026.

Under the new rules, retail outlets and shopping centers will close by 8 p.m., while restaurants, food outlets, bakeries, and grocery stores will operate until 10 p.m.

Essential services such as medical stores, hospitals, petrol pumps, and CNG stations are exempt from the restrictions and will continue to function as usual. Similarly, milk and dairy shops, gyms, sports courts, IT companies, and call centers will remain unaffected by the new timings.

The notification also mandates that wedding halls, private event venues, and marquees close by 10 p.m., while takeaway and home delivery services will continue without restrictions.

Authorities emphasized that the revised schedule aims to regulate business hours while maintaining access to essential services for residents.
