HANGU (Dunya News) – At least four children lost their lives after drowning in a pond near Kotki in the city of Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rescue officials said.
According to rescue authorities, the incident occurred in the Kotki area under City Police Station limits, where a group of Afghan refugee children were swimming in a water pond. Five children drowned, while rescuers managed to save one child. Four others died.
Officials said the deceased children were between five and eight years old. Among the victims were two brothers.
Rescue sources confirmed that all the deceased and the injured child belonged to Afghan refugee families.
