LAHORE (Web Desk) - Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has expressed concern over Pakistan’s growing population, stressing the importance of family planning and responsible decision-making for the welfare of future generations.
Speaking during a recent appearance on a private television programme, the senior actress took part in a discussion that ranged from light-hearted topics to more serious social issues. During the conversation, the subject of Pakistan’s population growth was also raised.
Commenting on the issue, Bushra Ansari said that population growth is a matter she frequently speaks about and remains deeply concerned over. She remarked that she often prays for relief regarding the challenges associated with the country’s increasing population.
The actress recalled that in the past, public awareness campaigns promoting family planning were more visible, noting that slogans encouraging birth spacing were commonly displayed. She observed that such messaging is no longer seen as prominently as before.
Bushra Ansari said that while sustenance is ultimately provided by Allah, human beings have also been blessed with wisdom and the ability to make responsible choices. She emphasized the need to consider the resources available when planning a family.
She further stated that bringing children into circumstances where adequate care and opportunities cannot be provided may create difficulties for both parents and children. Referring to large family sizes, she said that many households are already struggling to meet the needs of their existing members.
The actress urged greater awareness of the issue, highlighting the importance of balancing family responsibilities with available resources to ensure a better quality of life for future generations.
