ISLAMABD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday extended Eid Al Adha greetings to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a telephone conversation in which both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in key sectors including trade and investment.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif conveyed warm wishes to the Turkish leadership and the people of Turkiye on the joyous occasion of Eid Al Adha. President Erdogan responded with equal warmth as the two leaders held wide-ranging discussions covering bilateral relations and regional developments.
Recalling their recent meetings, particularly their interaction in Antalya in April, the two leaders reiterated that the longstanding and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye had grown stronger. They described the partnership as historic and time-tested, underpinned by close political understanding and shared interests.
The conversation also focused on accelerating the implementation of key decisions reached during recent high-level engagements. Both sides agreed on the importance of ensuring swift progress on commitments made during bilateral meetings, particularly initiatives aimed at expanding economic collaboration.
Trade and investment emerged as a major focus during the discussion, with both leaders expressing a desire to further deepen economic engagement and create stronger opportunities for cooperation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked Turkiye for its strong and consistent support for Pakistan-led peace initiatives and appreciated Ankara’s continued diplomatic backing.
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination to support peace through dialogue, stability and de-escalation efforts. The discussion reflected a shared emphasis on reducing tensions and encouraging diplomatic engagement to address regional challenges.
During the call, President Erdogan expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the tragic train bombing in Balochistan on Sunday. He reaffirmed Turkiye’s support for Pakistan in its ongoing efforts against terrorism and stressed that Ankara would continue to stand beside Islamabad in confronting security threats.
PM Shehbaz thanked the Turkish President for expressing solidarity and support, while reiterating Pakistan’s resolve to continue its fight against terrorism in all forms.
