ISLAMABAD (APP) - The National Center for Meteorology has intensified technical and operational preparations for the Day of Arafah by deploying advanced artificial intelligence-based weather forecasting systems to support millions of pilgrims during Hajj 1447 AH.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the center is using an integrated monitoring system based on AI technologies, weather radars, satellite imagery, and fixed and mobile monitoring stations to improve forecast accuracy and assist authorities serving pilgrims in the holy sites.

The report said the monitoring network includes five weather stations operating across Arafat and Muzdalifah to provide real-time weather updates during the peak Hajj period. Authorities said temperatures in Arafat are expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius on the Day of Arafah, accompanied by active winds and partly cloudy conditions.
SPA told APP that the advanced forecasting system is aimed at strengthening field preparedness and helping service agencies respond quickly to changing weather conditions affecting pilgrims.
The report added that Saudi authorities continue to utilize modern technologies and artificial intelligence to improve safety and operational efficiency during the Hajj season.
