KARACHI (Dunya News) - Direct flights between Iraq and Pakistan resumed after an 86-day suspension following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Iraqi Airways flight IA-409 from Baghdad landed in Karachi at 4:53am today, marking the restoration of direct air connectivity between the two countries. The return flight, IA-410, departed Karachi for Baghdad at 7:14am.
According to aviation sources, the last direct flight on this route arrived from Baghdad to Karachi on February 28, while IA-409 last operated to Karachi on February 15. Flights scheduled for May 2 and May 3 were also cancelled due to the regional situation.
Iraqi Airways has also announced plans to soon launch direct flights between Baghdad and Islamabad, further improving travel links between Pakistan and Iraq.
