PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Young Pakistani athlete Masood Khan set a world record by completing an 800-kilometre non-stop run from Peshawar to Skardu.
Masood Khan successfully completed the extraordinary challenge by covering the long and difficult route without stopping. During the journey, he crossed the rugged mountainous paths of the Karakoram Highway, the scenic views of the Indus River, and the valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The young athlete has previously competed against athletes from several countries, including Russia, Japan, and China, winning numerous medals for Pakistan.
Speaking after completing the feat, Masood Khan said he had made Pakistan proud on the global stage, adding that the long-distance run from Peshawar to Skardu was a unique and first-of-its-kind achievement. Despite extreme hardships, he completed the 810-kilometre world record challenge in just nine days.
He said continuous running caused him exhaustion and instability, but he never lost courage for the sake of Pakistan and its people. “Achieving the 800-kilometre target today is a matter of pride for me and the entire nation,” he added.
The achievement is being seen as an important milestone in highlighting the talent of Pakistan’s young athletes and promoting a positive image of the country at the international level.
