ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A delegation of the Central Organization of Traders Pakistan met State Minister for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani in Islamabad and presented a range of proposals related to the upcoming federal budget.
During the meeting, the traders’ delegation, led by its president, put forward a comprehensive framework of regulatory suggestions aimed at improving conditions for the retail and wholesale sectors.
The delegation emphasized removing administrative hurdles, simplifying business processes, and creating a conducive environment to ensure voluntary compliance with tax laws by the trading community.
The traders also called for the introduction of a simplified tax scheme in the upcoming budget and appreciated the government’s consultative approach, particularly the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in engaging stakeholders.
They also expressed gratitude to State Minister Bilal Azhar Kayani for his role in facilitating dialogue and addressing business community concerns.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the purpose of pre-budget consultations with traders is to ensure a collaborative and mutually beneficial policy-making process.
State Minister Bilal Azhar Kayani reiterated the government’s commitment to resolving traders’ issues and promoting a business-friendly environment in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision.
He acknowledged the key role of the business community in driving economic activity and job creation in the country.
The minister assured the delegation that the proposal for a simplified tax scheme would be reviewed by the prime minister, while all suggestions presented by traders would be considered for appropriate policy action to balance revenue generation with commercial growth.
