RAWALPINDI - A fire suddenly broke out in a metro bus arriving from Islamabad at Sixth Road in Rawalpindi, causing panic among passengers.
Rescue teams immediately reached the scene and began extinguishing the flames while ensuring the safety of passengers and staff. Authorities temporarily suspended metro bus services along the affected track, which will resume once the fire is fully controlled and the track cleared.
Initial reports indicate that all passengers were safely evacuated from the bus. More than 12 rescue personnel, including four emergency vehicles, were deployed at the scene.
Rescue officials confirmed that the bus was completely destroyed by the fire, which preliminary investigations suggest was caused by a short circuit. Prior to the arrival of emergency teams, passengers had broken the bus windows to escape the flames.
