TEHRAN (Dunya News) - Mojtaba Khamenei has reportedly rejected a proposal to transfer Enriched Uranium outside Iran.
According to reports, the Iranian leadership believes sending uranium reserves abroad could weaken Iran’s position in the event of possible future attacks.
Sources said the directive was issued following internal consensus within the Iranian establishment and was being viewed in connection with Iran’s national security and defence strategy.
News agencies reported that the decision could affect ongoing diplomatic efforts and negotiations between Iran and the United States.
One of the major conditions reportedly presented earlier by Donald Trump included transferring Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles outside the country.
Reports further claimed that Trump had assured Israel that efforts would be made to relocate Iran’s uranium reserves abroad.
However, Iran’s latest stance has raised new questions regarding the future of negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
