LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has tightened security around Pakistan Air Force (PAF) bases and commercial airports by imposing Section 144 across the province.
The restrictions cover a 13-kilometer radius around sensitive air facilities to safeguard flight operations and prevent potential threats.
The order bans activities such as pigeon flying, laser light usage, and discarding of waste within the designated zones for 30 days.
According to the provincial Home Department, these measures aim to protect human lives, property, and air traffic, as such activities pose serious safety risks.
The directives, issued under Section 144(6) of the Criminal Procedure Code 1898, also apply to all commercial airports across Punjab. Officials highlighted that discarded waste can attract birds, creating hazards for aircraft and passengers, and ordered strict sanitation measures in the vicinity of airbases and airports.
District administrations and law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the new regulations.
