Karachi Police Chief says Anmol Pinky is a clever suspect

Updated on:

Karachi Police Chief Azad Khan said investigations into the Anmol Pinky case would continue strictly on merit without pressure.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Karachi Police chief Azad Khan said Anmol alias Pinky was a “clever suspect” and claimed her lawyer made several arguments in court to avoid physical remand.

Speaking about the Anmol Pinky case, the Karachi police chief said the statements made by the suspect’s lawyer had no connection with reality.

Azad Khan said authorities could not identify who was allegedly backing the suspect until investigations were completed.

He alleged that the defence lawyer attempted to create doubts in the judge’s mind during court proceedings, adding that the investigation had only recently begun.

The Karachi police chief said the inquiry would proceed strictly on merit and without favour.

He further stated that action had already been taken against the SSP, SHO and investigation officer over incidents that occurred during the court appearance.

Azad Khan warned that no individual would be spared if evidence emerged during the investigation.

The police chief also said there was no pressure in the Anmol Pinky case, describing the issue as a major social problem affecting future generations and the country’s youth.
