PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – An alleged audio leak has once again exposed links between the ruling political party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fitna al-Khawarij.
Two leaked audio clips involving militant commanders identified as ‘Badshah,’allegedly based in Afghanistan, and ‘Rocketi’, reportedly operating in South Waziristan, have surfaced online.
The leaked conversation suggests that militants instructed their associates not to abduct or extort KP Assembly member Asif Mehsud due to his affiliation with the province’s ruling political party.
As per the leaked audio, Rocketi allegedly stopped and searched Asif Mehsud in South Waziristan and issued him an extortion notice. However, Badshah allegedly intervened and ordered that the lawmaker should neither be kidnapped nor harmed.
The audio further indicates that an apology was directed to be conveyed to the MPA after the search, while Rocketi reportedly confirmed compliance with the instructions.
According to experts, this audio is clear evidence of the bitter reality that the Khawarij now consider the leaders of the ruling political party of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as their sympathizers and are granting them immunity from kidnapping and extortion.
Analysts further stated that the audio leak reflects how the political and social space provided to the Khawarij by the KP government has led militant elements to view members of the province’s ruling political party as their own affiliates.
