Balochistan enters new era of digital governance: CM Bugti

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that Balochistan is embracing modern communication systems to create a transparent, innovative, and future-ready province

QUETTA (Dunya News) - Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Sunday announced that Balochistan was stepping into a new era of digital governance, transparency and innovation. The provincial government, he said has introduced its first-ever Digital Media Policy 2026, marking a milestone in modern communication and governance reforms.

In a message on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, Sarfraz Bugti highlighted that advanced systems were being implemented to strengthen transparency, merit and good governance, including an AI-based recruitment system that ensured fairness and efficiency. “Balochistan is embracing modern communication systems to create a transparent, innovative, and future-ready province,” Bugti said.

The chief minister noted that rapid progress was underway in establishing IT parks, youth IT programs and e-governance reforms, while projects such as the digitalization of on route 164 buses and climate tech initiatives were reshaping the province’s infrastructure.

Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that scholarships and digital skills programmes for youth remained top priorities, ensuring equal opportunities for development and access to modern facilities. He added that new projects in health, infrastructure and public welfare were aligning Balochistan with global standards of innovation and sustainability.

“The Balochistan government is committed to providing equal opportunities and modern facilities to our youth, enabling them to lead the province into a prosperous future,” Bugti concluded.
