Zilhaj moon sighted in Saudi Arabia, Eidul Azha on May 27

Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eidul Azha on May 27, while the first day of Zilhaj will fall on May 18 and Waquf-e-Arafah will be observed on May 26

RIYADH (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has officially announced the sighting of the moon marking the beginning of the Islamic month of Zilhaj.

According to Arab media, Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eidul Azha on May 27, while the first day of Zilhaj will fall on May 18 and Waquf-e-Arafah will be observed on May 26.

Meanwhile, the moon of Zilhaj has also been sighted in Indonesia, where Eidul Azha will likewise be celebrated on May 27.

Officials said that Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed the beginning of Zilhaj and announced that Eidul Azha would be observed on Wednesday, May 27.

Earlier, Tunisia and Turkiye also confirmed the sighting of Zilhaj moon, officially declaring Monday, May 18, as the first day of Zilhaj.
