Explosion at Israeli Defence facility leads to massive fire, access restricted to emergency vehicles

Explosion occurred in the Beit Shemesh area west of Jerusalem, where military authorities also restricted access for emergency response vehicles

(Web Desk) - A powerful explosion has been reported at a sensitive installation in Israel, prompting authorities to restrict the entry of rescue and emergency vehicles into the area.

According to reports, loud explosions were heard near the office of a defence company in occupied Jerusalem, with social media videos showing a large blast and a mushroom cloud rising into the sky, triggering concern among local residents.

The Israeli defence company Tomer stated that the blast was part of a pre-scheduled and controlled test conducted as planned.

However, Israeli media reported that the explosion occurred in the Beit Shemesh area west of Jerusalem, where military authorities also restricted access for emergency response vehicles.

The facility is reportedly involved in the production of heavy and light rocket engines, though officials have not disclosed details regarding potential damage or cause.

While Israeli authorities have described the incident as a controlled detonation of explosives, Israeli residents raised questions over the lack of prior public warning about such a large-scale explosion.
