Balochistan condemns killings of poet Prof. Ghamkhwar and Lady Constable Shakeela; officials vow justice as terrorists target women, children, and educators.

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Balochistan government has strongly condemned the recent killings of Brahvi-language poet and teacher Prof. Ghamkhwar Hayat and Lady Constable Shakeela, calling the attacks a blatant act of brutality against innocent civilians.

Shahid Rind, Special Assistant to the chief minister of Balochistan, expressed deep sorrow over the incidents in Turbat and Noshki, where terrorist gunfire also left the husband and son of the lady constable injured.

He stated that those who target women and children deserve no leniency. He described the attack on Professor Ghamkhwar as an assault on Balochistan’s literary, intellectual, and cultural heritage, emphasizing that perpetrators who threaten education and knowledge will be brought to justice.

Rind further said terrorists aim to spread fear by targeting teachers, women, and children, but the government and security agencies remain determined to eliminate terrorism.

Similarly, Babar Yousafzai, Special Assistant for the Home Department, condemned the attacks, stating that extremist groups have now begun targeting women, educators, and innocent citizens in Balochistan. He described the killing of Lady Constable Shakeela in front of children as an act of open terrorism.

Yousafzai highlighted the callousness of these groups, noting that they have no regard for women’s safety or children’s innocence. He stressed that the people of Balochistan, alongside security forces, are united against terrorism and that the perpetrators are nearing the end of their path.

He added that the shooting of an innocent family with 31 bullets shows the extreme cruelty of the attackers. Despite these incidents, the courage of women officers remains unwavering, and the fight against terrorism will continue. Concerns have also been raised about the possible abduction of Dr. Razaq Sabir and Dr. Manzoor, vice chancellors at Gwadar University, as militants attempt to disrupt education in the province.
