Pakistan received its second major LNG shipment from Qatar as authorities aim to strengthen gas supply and energy stability.

KARACHI (Web Desk) - Pakistan received its second major shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a vessel carrying LNG from Qatar successfully docked at Port Qasim in Karachi.

According to Port Qasim authorities, the LNG carrier arrived from Qatar’s Ras Laffan Port carrying 56,573 metric tonnes of LNG.

Officials said the 299-metre-long vessel was successfully berthed at the Port Qasim terminal without complications.

Authorities stated that the fresh LNG shipment would play an important role in meeting the country’s growing gas demand and strengthening the energy sector.

Sources said the imported LNG was also expected to provide relief to power plants and the industrial sector by improving fuel availability.

Port officials added that all transfer operations from the vessel were being conducted in line with international safety standards to ensure uninterrupted supply and smooth handling procedures.
