ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Supreme Judicial Council deferred the matter related to the letter written by six superior court judges and disposed of complaints filed against judges of the higher judiciary.
According to details, a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council was held under the chairmanship of Yahya Afridi to discuss various matters.
A statement said the meeting took place in the conference room of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad, with Chief Justice Yahya Afridi presiding over the session.
Participants included Aminuddin Khan, Munib Akhtar, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Aalia Neelum and Sarfraz Dogar.
The statement further said Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Shahid Waheed and Atiq Shah also attended the meeting.
According to the statement, the council reviewed matters concerning its own members while keeping institutional accountability and transparency in view. Following the reconstitution of the council, Justice Aminuddin Khan chaired proceedings related to matters involving council members.
The Supreme Judicial Council disposed of 23 complaints. Sources said the council deferred the issue of the six judges’ letter, observing that the matter was already pending before the Supreme Court.
