Pakistan introduces unified character certificate system

Pakistan launches unified online character certificate system, integrating nationwide police records to simplify verification for travellers and job seekers.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Ministry of Interior has introduced a unified character certificate system across the country for the first time to facilitate overseas travellers and job applicants.

According to an official statement, data from all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir has been integrated into a single system.

Under the new mechanism, citizens will no longer need to obtain separate certificates from different provinces and will instead receive police character certificates through the National Police Bureau.

The statement said a centralised database of Pakistani citizens has now been established at the National Police Bureau, allowing issuance of character certificates from one platform nationwide.

Authorities said the police verification process has been made faster and linked to a central digital system. Citizens will now be able to obtain police character certificates online from their homes.

Officials added that the initiative would provide major relief to Pakistanis travelling abroad and candidates applying for jobs.
