ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Thursday announced an Eid gift for the people of Peshawar, stating that the upgraded Awam Express, equipped with modern facilities, will be inaugurated before Eid-ul-Adha.
He said the formal inauguration ceremony of the Awam Express is scheduled for May 24, adding that the train is being fully upgraded to provide improved travel comfort ahead of the festive season, according to a news release.

The minister noted that the modernized Awam Express, fitted with upgraded rakes and improved amenities, will offer a faster, more comfortable and better-quality journey between Peshawar and Karachi.
Hanif Abbasi said the government’s vision is to ensure safe, modern and comfortable travel facilities for the public, adding that Pakistan Railways is taking practical steps to modernize the entire railway system across the country.
He further announced that one premier train will be launched from every major city to enhance rail connectivity and improve passenger services.
The minister reiterated that upgrading Pakistan Railways and facilitating passengers remains the ministry’s top priority.
