(Web Desk) - The teaser for the country’s first-ever rap reality show, ‘Rap Icon Pakistan,’ has officially released, featuring renowned rappers Talha Anjum and Bohemia as judges.
The teaser, shared on Pixel Entertainment’s social media platforms, showcases flashy cars, bold fashion and intense rap battle sequences, highlighting young artists competing to prove their talent.
The show is scheduled to premiere on YouTube on May 24. It was initially planned for release during Eidul Fitr, but the launch date was later revised.
According to executive producer Rizwan Siddiqui, the first season will feature 12 emerging rappers competing across 10 episodes through various rap challenges and themed performances.
The competition aims to discover fresh rap talent in Pakistan and create future stars similar to Talha Anjum and Bohemia. The top-performing contestants will eventually compete in the grand finale for the title of “Rap Icon.”
Reality television shows have witnessed renewed popularity in Pakistan in recent years, particularly after the success of international-format programmes such as MasterChef and Shark Tank.
Although the finale of Pakistan Idol remains delayed due to regional tensions and cost-cutting measures, industry observers believe “Rap Icon Pakistan” could inject fresh energy into the country’s entertainment sector.
There is also growing speculation within media circles that larger competition shows, including Pakistan's Got Talent, may soon be introduced for Pakistani audiences following the launch of the rap-based reality series.
