TEHRAN (Web Desk) - An Iranian military spokesperson has said that Iran will no longer allow the transfer of American weapons through the Strait of Hormuz to US military bases in the region.
Iranian Army Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia stated that any country whose ships wish to pass through the Strait of Hormuz will have to do so under the supervision of Iran’s armed forces to ensure safe passage.
He further said that the Strait of Hormuz is now under the “strategic control” of Iranian forces, with the western section being monitored by the Naval Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), while the eastern section is under the surveillance of the Iranian Navy.

Meanwhile, US Congressman Ed Case claimed during a Senate committee hearing that the United States had lost 39 aircraft since the outbreak of war with Iran on Feb 28, citing a report published by US defense outlet The War Zone.
Case made the remarks while questioning Pentagon Chief Financial Officer Jay Hurst about the scale of damage suffered by the US military during the conflict.
“We've lost about 39 aircraft, according to a report in The War Zone, and that's an old one that's almost one month old,” Case said during the hearing.
He also asked whether the Pentagon had calculated the overall cost of replacing or repairing the aircraft involved.
