Saudi Arabia has introduced a driverless robo-taxi service at Quba Mosque in Madinah, offering safe, AI-powered transport to pilgrims under Vision 2030 initiatives.

MADINAH (Web Desk) - A driverless robo-taxi service has been introduced at Quba Mosque in Madinah, surprising pilgrims and worshippers with its advanced technology.

Saudi authorities said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to provide modern, safe and environmentally friendly transportation while supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The autonomous vehicle, referred to as a “robobus,” operates using artificial intelligence, equipped with advanced sensors and high-resolution cameras to detect surroundings and ensure passenger safety.

Officials stated that the robobus will run along a designated 700-meter route within the المسجد area, transporting visitors without the need for a human driver.

The service has been launched on a trial basis for 60 days, during which its performance and safety systems will be closely monitored.

Experts say the initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on integrating smart technologies into religious sites, enhancing convenience for millions of visitors from around the world.
