ATTOCK (Dunya News) – Funeral prayers were offered for a brave civilian, Liaquat Khan, who embraced martyrdom after stopping a suicide bomber in Jand tehsil of Attock district.
The funeral was held at Attock Police Lines and led by Syed Saadat Ali Shah. A large number of residents attended to pay their respects.
According to officials, Liaquat Khan acted on suspicion and stopped a man to verify his identity. The attacker detonated himself during the encounter, resulting in Liaquat Khan’s martyrdom. Authorities said his timely action prevented a potentially large-scale tragedy.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the fallen civilian, calling his actions a symbol of courage and responsibility. He said Liaquat Khan’s bravery saved many lives and would always be remembered.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also praised the martyr, expressing condolences to his family. She said his sacrifice would not be forgotten and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to public safety.
