LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that Mother’s Day is a day to acknowledge the extraordinary love, devotion, and sacrifices of mothers across society.
In her message on Mother’s Day, she said the occasion is dedicated to courageous and determined mothers who send their sons to the battlefield, as well as the mothers of every martyr and veteran. She also paid tribute to working mothers who labor tirelessly for their children and those who endure personal hardship to ensure their children are cared for.
She said a mother is like a cool shade in the scorching heat of life, providing comfort and peace, adding that God has elevated the status of motherhood by comparing His love with a mother’s affection. “A mother is the name of pure emotion and an unbreakable bond,” she said, describing mothers as the foundation of families and a pillar of society.
Maryam Nawaz said Mother’s Day is a reminder to recognize mothers’ unmatched sacrifices, adding that she personally feels the absence of her own late mother every year on this day.
She also remembered former First Lady Kulsoom Nawaz, saying she could never forget her love and affection, and credited her prayers for her current position in public office.
She prayed for the health, well-being, and happiness of all mothers, saying that those who serve and respect their mothers are rewarded both in this world and the hereafter.
