RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s top military leadership on Saturday congratulated the nation and members of the Armed Forces on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, describing the occasion as a symbol of courage, unity and national resolve.

In a joint message issued on the anniversary, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Pakistan and all ranks of the Armed Forces.

The military leadership said the anniversary was being observed with “deep reverence, gratitude and national fervour”, reflecting the enduring spirit of professionalism and sacrifice shown by the country’s defence forces and citizens alike.

The chiefs emphasised that the Armed Forces stood “shoulder to shoulder” with the people of Pakistan, reaffirming what they described as an unbreakable bond with the nation. They also paid tribute to martyrs and veterans whose sacrifices, the statement said, remained the cornerstone of Pakistan’s sovereignty, security and stability.

To mark the occasion, ceremonies are being held across the country, including wreath-laying events at martyrs’ memorials and special prayers in honour of fallen soldiers. The commemorations are aimed at recognising the valour and selflessness of those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The statement described Marka-e-Haq as a defining landmark in Pakistan’s national journey, saying it reflected the country’s strategic maturity, military professionalism and collective resolve. According to the military leadership, the success associated with Marka-e-Haq strengthened national confidence and reinforced Pakistan’s standing as a responsible regional stabiliser with strong defence capabilities.

The chiefs also highlighted the role played by the Armed Forces across multiple operational domains, including land, air, sea, cyber and information warfare. The statement said Pakistan had demonstrated operational competence while confronting both conventional and hybrid threats, including proxy terrorism and disinformation campaigns.

According to the military leadership, Pakistan’s measured and resolute response during Marka-e-Haq exposed adversarial conspiracies and false narratives, diminishing their credibility internationally. The statement added that the Armed Forces had continued to strengthen the country’s defensive preparedness and full-spectrum deterrence despite resource challenges.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, the chiefs said sustainable peace in South Asia could only be achieved through meaningful dialogue, mutual respect and adherence to international law and principles of justice.

The military leadership further stated that, backed by a resilient and united nation, Pakistan’s Armed Forces remained vigilant, capable and fully prepared to confront all internal and external challenges while safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity and long-term stability.
