TEHRAN (Dunya News) - The United States Navy has reportedly targeted an Iranian-flagged commercial vessel overnight, leaving 10 people injured and five missing, one of whom has since been confirmed dead.
According to a report by Islamic Republic News Agency, the incident occurred near the Strait of Hormuz and the Makran Sea, where a cargo ship was reportedly struck in coastal waters near Minab, triggering a fire on board.
Iranian media reported that 15 crew members were aboard the vessel.
The 10 injured individuals were transferred to hospitals, while rescue teams and local authorities launched a search operation for the remaining five missing persons.

According to Iranian media, the governor of Minab said the body of one missing sailor had been recovered following the incident, while efforts to locate the remaining crew members were continuing.
Rescue teams remain engaged in search operations across the area.
Meanwhile, no immediate official statement has been issued by US authorities regarding the incident.
The development comes amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran over naval blockades in the Strait of Hormuz, the movement of oil tankers, and ceasefire-related issues.
