LAHORE (Dunya News) – A meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Parliamentary Board, chaired by party president Nawaz Sharif, was held recently to review and interview candidates for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections.
The session was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and other senior party leaders.
Sources said the board conducted interviews of over 206 candidates across 45 constituencies in AJK. Nawaz Sharif, along with senior party members, personally participated in the candidate evaluations.
The final decisions regarding party tickets will be made by Nawaz Sharif in consultation with board members. Successful candidates are expected to receive their PML-N tickets within 30 days.
Key members of the Parliamentary Board present at the meeting included Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Pervaiz Rasheed, Rana Sanaullah, Amir Maqsood, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Anusha Rahman, Muhammad Safdar, and Burjis Tahir.
Other members included Shah Ghulam Qadir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider, Mushtaq Minhas, Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed, and Chaudhry Tariq Farooq. The meeting also saw the participation of Najib Naqi Khan, Iftikhar Gilani, and Chaudhry Abdul Rahman.
