The information minister reiterated that Pakistan has always prioritised peace but possesses the capability to respond strongly to any aggression.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan achieved success not only on the military front during Marka-e-Haq, but also effectively established its position diplomatically and in the narrative battle at the international level.

Addressing a ceremony organised by the Press Association of Supreme Court to mark one year of the Marka-e-Haq victory, Tarar said it was an honour for him to participate in the event and noted his longstanding association with the press body.

The minister said that during the conflict last year, nation stood united against the enemy beyond political divisions, adding that success is always achieved through unity and consensus.

He said Pakistan was granted success on the military, diplomatic, and narrative fronts, while India’s claims were exposed within hours and its “arrogance was shattered.”

Attaullah Tarar praised the performance of the Pakistan Air Force and the country’s air defence systems, saying they demonstrated exceptional professionalism recognised globally.

He claimed the adversary was forced into retreat within hours and eventually initiated contact for a ceasefire.

The minister credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for providing key leadership during the conflict. He also commended Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and the preparedness of the Pakistan Navy.

Tarar said Pakistani media, journalists, social media users, and youth played an important role during the narrative battle, adding that Pakistan’s responsible media approach was appreciated internationally.

He said that India made baseless claims during the conflict but was later exposed globally when facts emerged.

The information minister reiterated that Pakistan has always prioritised peace but possesses the capability to respond strongly to any aggression.

He added that Pakistan continues to play a frontline role in the fight against terrorism, while accusing India of adopting double standards on the issue.

Referring to Kashmir, Tarar said the dispute remains an international issue despite India’s attempts to portray it as an internal matter.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces, under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, and Admiral Naveed Ashraf, remained fully prepared and vigilant at all times.
