Azad Kashmir observes Thanksgiving Day on Marka-e-Haq anniversary

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - On the completion of one year of Pakistan's great victory in Marka-e-Haq against India, a Thanksgiving Day ceremony was held here on Thursday.

The special guest of the ceremony was Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore. General Officer Commanding Chinar Division, President of Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin attended the ceremony among others.

Senior Minister Mian Abdul Waheed, ministers Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Syed Bazal Ali Naqvi, Ms Nabila Ayub, Chief Secretary Khushal Khan, IG Liaquat Ali Malik, and senior civil and military officials also attended the ceremony.

The ceremony paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs. Pakistan's famous singers Ali Azmat and Aima Baig enthralled the audience by performing national songs, while the beautiful tableaus of the children won the hearts of the participants.

National cricketer Muhammad Haris also participated in the ceremony. Local singers Raja Imran, Abdul Basit, Natasha Khan also performed. On this occasion, the PM and Commanding Officer of Chinar Division distributed shields among the families of the martyrs and saluted their great sacrifices.

A magnificent fireworks display was held at the end of the ceremony. Various celebrations were also held in other districts and tehsils of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to mark the completion of the first year of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

Along with ordinary citizens, youth actively participated in these celebrations and paid tribute to the Pakistan Army. Seminars and speech competitions were also held in public and private educational institutions where students shed light on the defence capabilities of the Pakistan Army and paid tribute to the martyrs.
