ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Electricity consumers across Pakistan, including K-Electric users, may receive a major relief of Rs63.94 billion as power distribution companies (DISCOs) have submitted a request to NEPRA for quarterly adjustments.
The DISCOs have filed an application with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for the first quarter adjustment of the calendar year 2026, with a hearing scheduled for May 19.

According to the application, a reduction of Rs36.83 billion has been recorded under capacity charges for the period of January to March.
The DISCOs further stated in their request that there has been a reduction of Rs11.24 billion under system usage charges and market operation fees.
They also requested a Rs23.51 billion adjustment under incremental units.
The final decision regarding the relief for consumers will be made after NEPRA’s hearing.
